Profit and loss calculator
A trade's result is the difference between exit and entry, in the position's direction, times the volume, the contract size and the rate from quote currency to account currency — minus commission and swap. Buying 0.5 lot of EURUSD at 1.1000 and exiting at 1.1050 yields 50 pips and 250 dollars gross.
Enter direction, entry price, exit price, volume, units per lot, pip size, conversion rate and costs. The calculator returns the move in pips, the gross result and the net result, no login.

What this calculator solves
Before opening, the question is 'how much do I make at the target and how much do I lose at the stop'. After closing, it is 'how much is left after costs'. Both are the same calculation, and the platform only shows the second.
What usually drops out of a mental calculation is the cost: a 7-dollar round-trip commission per lot and two nights of swap turn a 20-pip target on 0.5 lot into a lot less than the 100 dollars the chart promised.
How the calculation works
Move = (exit − entry) for a buy, or (entry − exit) for a sell. Pips = move ÷ pip size.
Gross result = move × lots × units per lot × rate from quote currency to account currency. It is the same reasoning as the pip value calculator, applied to the whole move.
Net result = gross − costs. Costs are entered already in account currency: opening and closing commission added up, plus the swap accumulated over the nights the position stayed open.
Full example
Buy 0.5 lot of EURUSD at 1.1000, exit at 1.1050, dollar account, 7 dollars total commission. Move: 0.0050. Pips: 50. Gross: 0.0050 × 0.5 × 100,000 × 1 = 250. Net: 243.
The same trade as a sell (entry 1.1000, exit 1.1050) gives −50 pips and −250 gross, −257 net. The cost is the same in both directions — which is why the required win rate rises with it.
After the calculation
In TCC, every recorded trade — by hand, by import or through the read-only MetaTrader 5 connector — arrives with its net result in account currency, and the journal shows how much of the gross went to costs over the month.
FAQ
Does swap count in the result?
It does: it is a cost (or, sometimes, a credit) for each night the position stays open. The calculator takes the accumulated swap together with commission, in the costs field.
How do I calculate the result on a non-dollar account?
Enter in the rate field what 1 unit of the pair's quote currency is worth in your account currency. If the two are the same, the rate is 1.
